UFC President Dana White has strongly criticized fighter Bryce Mitchell after the 30-year-old made offensive comments during a podcast, including praising Adolf Hitler and making homophobic, antisemitic, and transphobic remarks. White expressed his outrage on Thursday, calling Mitchell’s statements among the most ignorant he’s ever encountered.
In his response, White addressed Mitchell’s controversial comments, specifically those about Hitler, stating, “Hitler was responsible for the death of six million Jews. Anyone who defends or praises him is a moron.” He emphasized how dangerous the internet and social media can be by giving platforms to such harmful views.
While White expressed being “beyond disgusted” by Mitchell’s remarks, he clarified that the UFC would not take disciplinary action, citing the principle of free speech. He added, “That’s the beauty of this business—if you don’t like Bryce Mitchell, you’ll have the chance to see him lose on TV.”
Mitchell, who has been part of the UFC since 2018 and won his most recent fight in December, shared these comments during the first episode of his new podcast. In the episode, Mitchell, known as “Thug Nasty,” described Hitler as a “good guy” based on his personal research, calling him someone he’d “go fishing with” before criticizing mainstream historical education. He also denied the Holocaust, a view widely condemned as false and harmful.
Following the uproar, Mitchell’s sponsor, The Regenaissance, a clothing brand, severed ties with the fighter. The company’s founder, Ryan Griggs, stated that Mitchell’s views “do not align with the brand’s beliefs” and that they could no longer support him.
