Los Angeles (KTLA) — Ken Flores, a promising comedian in the Los Angeles comedy scene, tragically passed away on Tuesday at the age of 28. Known for his vibrant personality and unique comedic style, Flores was found dead at his home that afternoon. The cause of his death has not yet been revealed.

Originally from Chicago, Flores made his mark by collaborating with notable Southern California comedians such as Gabriel Iglesias and Jo Koy. His success opened doors for him to highlight fellow Latino comedians through his “LatinXL” show at the Comedy Store in Chicago. A heartfelt tribute posted to the show’s Instagram page reflected on Flores’ impact, stating, “LatinXL would not exist without Ken. His ‘XTRA large personality’ brought crowds across the country together, and his vision helped break barriers for other Latino comedians.”

The Hollywood Improv also honored Flores, acknowledging his remarkable talent. “We were honored to share your talent on our stages. You were greatness, and it was only a matter of time until the world saw it,” they wrote. “You were also kind and a tremendous friend to all lucky enough to know you. We love you, Ken, and thank you for all the laughs.”

Renowned comedians like Bobby Lee praised Flores for his powerful stage presence, calling him a “beast on stage.” Fellow comedian Sampson McCormick shared a heartfelt message about Flores, calling him “a great comic and a cool guy,” and sent his condolences to Flores’ family.

Flores’ loss has left a significant void in the comedy world, where he was loved for his comedic talent, generosity, and the positive impact he had on his peers.
